AMAs Fashion: 10 Little Black Dresses We Love

The classic wardrobe staple served Fergie, Selena Gomez and a slew of other raven-clad ladies well on Sunday's red carpet

Sure, we loved the leather duds and the gilded gowns that appeared on Sunday's American Music Awards red carpet, but the evening's true winners were none other than the classic LBDs that were seen on Selena Gomez, Fergie and Nicki Minaj, to name a few.

Gomez — who performed her latest single, "The Heart Wants What It Wants," during the awards show — stepped out in a sophisticated Armani Prive gown, which she paired with gold drop earrings and cuff bracelets. Compared to the gold Giorgio Armani gown she wore to the 2011 AMAs, she most certainly owns this latest look. (Eat your heart out, Biebs.)

Tracee Ellis Ross

Tracee Ellis Ross also stepped out in a somewhat similar full-length gown, but one with an added surprise: a cutout on her upper back. With her hair pulled back into a simple bun and a classic red lip, the Black-ish star proves that keeping it minimal is sometimes the best way approach on the carpet. Jenny McCarthy and Charli XCX would likely agree, as McCarthy arrived in a long frock by Cushnie et Ochs and the "Boom Clap" singer wore an off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood Red Label dress.

Orange Is the New Black's Uzo Aduba (aka Crazy Eyes) exchanged her orange jumpsuit for the evening with a starry-printed dress by Vivienne Westwood. She paired her fun frock with Giuseppe Zanotti heels, a Lee Savage clutch and Djula jewelry.

Of course, as with any awards show, there was plenty of exposed skin on the carpet. Fergie showed off her toned legs in a thigh-high Halston gown with a gold belt, while Nicki Minaj teased parts of her midriff with cutouts in her minidress by Alexander Wang.

The Walking Dead's Lauren Cohan wore a neck-plunging LBD by Blumarine, keeping it short and sweet. Lucy Hale also kept it above the knees in a mini shift dress by Vera Wang, complete with embellishments, sequined flowers and a ruffled hemline, while Dianna Agron opted for an off-the-shoulder Marchesa cocktail number.

Black is back, indeed.
