Amazon Announces Premiere Date for 'Mozart in the Jungle' Dramedy
All 10 episodes of the series, which stars Gael Garcia Bernal and is co-created by Jason Schwartzman and Roman Coppola, will be available for streaming shortly before Christmas
Amazon has announced that all 10 episodes of its new dramatic comedy Mozart in the Jungle will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Instant Video on Dec. 23 in the U.S., U.K. and Germany.
The series, about a New York-set orchestra, stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Saffron Burrows and Hannah Dunne. Alex Timbers co-wrote and co-created the 10-episode series with Jason Schwartzman and Roman Coppola, who are executive producing with Paul Weitz and John Strauss.
Mozart in the Jungle will also feature guest appearances from stars like Malcolm McDowell, Bernadette Peters and Debra Monk. The Amazon Studios series is based on a memoir by by Blair Tindall and is seen through the eyes of a young oboist navigating the egos and eccentricities of a prestigious orchestra and its conductor, played by Bernal. The show was part of Amazon's second pilot slate, which also included Transparent, which was recently renewed for a second season.
