Amazon.com's Kindle Fire to Offer Pre-Installed LoveFilm Streaming Service in U.K.
The e-book readers will also integrate Amazon's movie database IMDb into the online film service.
LONDON - Amazon.com is starting to offer a free one-month subscription for its online film service LoveFilm to U.K. buyers of its Kindle Fire And Kindle Fire HD e-book readers and also integrating its IMDb movie database.
The companies said that starting Thursday LoveFilm will come pre-installed on the devices, offering thousands of movies and TV shows for streaming, including Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Karate Kid and Gnomeo and Juliet.
LoveFilm will use Kindle features to enhance viewing with such new features as Watch List, an unlimited playlist of movies and TV shows that can be accessed on demand, and pause and resume functions that keeps track of where a user has stopped a video even if they then continue to watch on another device.

“Every Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire in the U.K. comes with seamless integration of LoveFilm giving users access to thousands of movies and TV shows," said LoveFilm managing director Jim Buckle. "This is a huge moment for LoveFilm and continues to expand our multi-platform offering – delivering the very best content onto the most popular devices, which can only be great news for film and TV fans.”
Added Jorrit Van der Meulen, vp Kindle, Amazon EU: “The minute customers turn on their Kindle Fire HD they will have instant access to our vast content eco-system of apps, games, songs, books and magazines, plus thousands of fantastic movies and TV shows from LoveFilm."
