John Goodman returns to Washington, D.C.

Amazon's first original series is returning in October for a second season.

Alpha House will premiere Oct. 24 on Amazon's Prime Instant Video streaming service, and this season all 10 episodes of the Garry Trudeau (Doonesbury) political comedy will be available at once.

The half-hour show stars John Goodman, Mark Consuelos, Clark Johnson and Matt Mallory as Republican senators and roommates in Washington, D.C. The second season will see the politicians dealing with an upcoming midterm election and an uncertain political future. Guest stars will include Bill Murray, Andy CohenPenn Jillette and U.S. senators John McCain and Elizabeth Warren

Alpha House was part of Amazon's first batch of original pilots in 2013 and was one of two shows picked up to series. Since then, Amazon has debuted two additional pilot batches and handed out series orders to Jill Soloway's Transparent, which debuted to favorable reviews on Sept. 26, Chris Carter's The After, Michael Connelly's adaptation of Bosch and New York orchestra-set Mozart in the Jungle

Alpha House is produced by Trudeau, Elliot Webb and Jonathan Alter
