Former AMC Exec Marci Wiseman to Lead Global Business Affairs at Entertainment One
As the indie increases film production and distribution internationally, Wiseman's hire points to possible deals.
Long-time AMC Networks exec Marci Wiseman has jumped to Entertainment One to head up its business and legal affairs worldwide.
Named executive vp global business and legal affairs at eOne, Wiseman will oversee deal-making in film and TV production, acquisition, international co-production, direct distribution and international sales. She was most recently executive in charge of owned content strategy and distribution at AMC Networks.
"As we continue to broaden our film production and distribution activities, Marci’s wide-ranging experience and relationships will be invaluable," Steve Bertram, president of global film group at eOne, said in a statement on Wednesday, as he pointed to possible deals in the works.
Wiseman launched and grew AMC’s content ownership business, which included AMC Studios, and oversaw TV series like The Walking Dead and Turn, Halt and Catch Fire, Fear the Walking Dead and Sundance TV’s Rectify. eOne handles international distribution for original scripted series from AMC and the Sundance Channel.
Overseeing teams in London, Toronto, Los Angeles, and within other eOne territories, Wiseman will be based in Los Angeles and will report to Bertram and eOne TV president John Morayniss.
