American Film Market's Finance Conference Expands to Two Days
With a line-up of participants that includes Sierra Pictures' Nick Meyer, Optimum Releasing's Danny Perkins, Film Finances' Steve Ransohoff, Nu Image's Trevor Short, WME's Graham Taylor, Icon's Stewart Till and the Weinstein Co.'s Harvey Weinstein, the American Film Market's annual Finance Conference is expanding to cover two days this year.
The conference is set for Nov. 5 and 6.
The opening session, titled "De-mystifying the Economic Implications of Electronic Delivery and the Recession on Film Performance," will offer an analysis by the Salter Group, followed by a panel discussion moderated by attorney P. John Burke and featuring Weinstein and the Salter Group's Patrick Russo.
The AFM will also offer a series of seminars such as a PGA panel on "New Strategies on how to Package and Finance Your Independent Project Overseas," with Film Colony's Richard Gladstein and Mandalay's Cathy Schulman.
A "Studio Finance and Distribution" seminar will include panelists Chris Aronson, svp domestic distribution, 20th Century Fox; Steve Bersch, Ppresident, Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group; Ron Hohauser, CFO, Summit Entertainment; and Jeff Small, president & COO, DreamWorks.
