The former Artisan Entertainment CEO also co-founded private investment firm Qualia Capital.
Former Artisan Entertainment CEO Amir Malin has been named to the board of directors of VFX software developer GenArts.
Malin co-founded and is now managing principal of Qualia Capital, a private investment firm that focuses on opportunities in the media and entertainment sector. He founded the firm with Ken Schapiro, now COO of the new MGM.
Before Qualia, Malin helped Artisan's grow from a home video distributor (known as LIVE Entertainment) to a leading, privately held independent filmed entertainment company. In December 2003, he oversaw Artisan’s merger with Lionsgate.
Malin also served as president of October Films and in 1982 founded Cinecom Films.
