Amy Poehler to host 'SNL' premiere

Katy Perry tapped as musical guest for Sept. 25 episode

Amy Poehler returns to "Saturday Night Live" for its 36th season premiere, but this time as host, NBC confirmed Tuesday.

The "Parks and Recreation" star and former "SNL" regular takes over hosting duties Sept. 25 with Katy Perry tagging along as musical guest.

Joining Poehler -- who is a three-time Emmy nominee -- as hosts this season are "Breaking Bad's" Bryan Cranston and "Glee's" Jane Lynch, both of whom will appear on the live NBC sketch show in October.

Four new comics are also joining as featured players: Vanessa Bayer, Paul Brittain, Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah.
