Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black' Sees Largest Sales Boost Since 2008 Grammys
In the days following Amy Winehouse’s sudden death, her Grammy Award winning album, Back to Black, saw a massive sales boost with skyrocketing digital numbers, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Selling 37,000 copies in the two days following her death, 95% (36,000) of those albums sold were digital. Additionally, digital track sales for the artist spiked 2,000% over the last week, with 111,000 tracks downloaded. Earning the most clicks with 34,000 was her smash hit “Rehab,” which seems to take on a whole new meaning following the 27-year olds tragic death.

The latest figures crush Winehouse’s last significant sales jump. In the week following the 2008 Grammys, which saw Winehouse earning five awards, Back to Black sold 21,000 digital copies.

Frank, Winehouse’s first studio album, also sold a total of 7,600 copies this week --7,000 of them digital.
On the airwaves, the late singer received a total of 117 song spins last week. That number hit 301 on Saturday, July 23, increasing by 170%, Nielson BDS reports.

Winehouse will be honored by MTV with a 2007 concert special to be re-aired on Wednesday at 6 p.m. She was laid to rest in an intimate ceremony for friends and family in London on Tuesday.
