Andy Richter back as Conan O'Brien sidekick
'Conan' launches on the Turner network on Nov. 8.
NEW YORK -- TBS made it official on Tuesday: Andy Richter will be back as Conan O'Brien's sidekick when "Conan" launches on the Turner network on Nov. 8.
The two have worked together since Sept. 13, 1993, making them one of the longest running teams in late-night TV, TBS highlighted.
Richter had been expected to play a role on "Conan" after being part of the recently concluded "Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour" and previous comments from O'Brien.
"I'm thrilled to be going back to work with Conan, and very excited to start a whole new venture on TBS," quipped Richter. "However, I am mostly looking forward to getting out of the house again."
Said O'Brien: "This decision was made without my authority. I will get to the bottom of this."
