President Nina Tassler says the key "Talk" player will now help steer the rest of the afternoon lineup, including two of TV's surviving soaps.
CBS Entertainment has promoted Angelica McDaniel to SVP, Daytime. President Nina Tassler announced the move on Wednesday morning.
McDaniel, a key player of The Talk, joined the network in August, 2010. In the last year and a half she's served as the network's VP of current Daytime programs.

“Angelica has made invaluable contributions to the launch and success of The Talk,” said Tassler. “Her strategic and creative vision and understanding of the daytime landscape will continue to move CBS Daytime in the right direction as this successful and profitable day part continues to evolve.”
Reporting to Tassler, McDaniel's new role finds her overseeing the network's entire daytime lineup, which includes The Talk, game shows The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal and the largest stable of soap operas still on network television: The Young and the Restless and Bold and the Beautiful.
McDaniel previously worked as a creative exec at Telepictures/Warner Bros' program development department. Earlier, she served as the creative director of new media for Telepictures, spearheading digital initiatives and strategies for series including The Ellen Degeners Show, TMZ, Extra and The Tyra Banks Show.
The Talk, which McDaniel has overseen since its launch, continues to be a point of pride for CBS Daytime. After a shake-up from the original hosting panel, the sophomore season recently posted double digit gains, year over year, in the targeted women 18-49 demo.
