Ani 'Spider-Man' lines up licensing
EmptyNEW YORK -- Spider-Man Merchandising -- the limited partnership between Sony Pictures Consumer Products and Marvel Entertainment -- has announced the 10 licensing partners that will serve as the foundation of the merchandising program for the new "Spectacular Spider-Man" animated series.
The show will premiere on the Kids' WB! lineup on the CW Network in early 2008. Already signed on as licensees are Hasbro, Wear Me Apparel, IMT sporting goods, Fashion Accessory Bazaar, Bendon Publishing, DecoPac, Giant Merchandising, Berkshire Fashion, Fast Forward and Jay Franco. Spider-Man Merchandising said it is continuing to work on expanding the program with additional licensees.
Marvel and Sony Pictures recently announced that they have greenlighted an additional 13 half-hour episodes of the show, bringing the current series run to 26 episodes. A major marketing effort by Marvel, Sony Pictures Television and Kids WB! designed to build consumer awareness of the series is already underway.
