Anna Camp Returning for 'Pitch Perfect 2' (Exclusive)
Aubrey Posen, the uptight, competitive a cappella singer who struggles with stress-induced vomiting, will be making her way back onstage.
Anna Camp has closed her deal to reprise her role in the Universal sequel, Pitch Perfect 2.
Elizabeth Banks, who conceived of the original Pitch Perfect, is directing the follow-up. Camp is one of the final original castmembers to be confirmed for the sequel, as many of the actors from the first film (including Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson) have already joined. While Camp's character was popular, fans weren't sure if she would return since she was a senior in the first film and would have graduated.
Kendrick, Wilson and Camp will be joined by several new faces, including Katey Sagal and Hailee Steinfeld.
Slated to hit theaters on May 15, 2015, the sequel follows Fat Amy (Wilson) and Beca (Kendrick) through their senior year at Barden University.
Kay Cannon returned to write the screenplay for the sequel, which is produced by Paul Brooks for Gold Circle Films alongside Banks and Max Handelman for their Brownstone Productions shingle. Jason Moore is executive producing alongside Gold Circle's Scott Niemeyer. Cannon is co-producing with Gold Circle’s Jeff Levine.
Universal's co-president of production Peter Cramer is overseeing the project for the studio alongside director of development Sara Scott.
Along with starring in Pitch Perfect, Camp's recent work includes Oscar-nominated film The Help and HBO's vampire drama True Blood. Camp also has appeared on Broadway, starring in Equus with Daniel Radcliffe and The Country Girl opposite Frances McDormand and Morgan Freeman. She's repped by UTA, Authentic Talent and Literary Management and Schreck Rose.
