Anna Kendrick, Rashida Jones Toast 'Glamour' Mag's Success Issue
Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Joe Jonas also stepped out to fete the industry's most powerful ladies on Friday evening.
Glamour magazine’s June cover star, Anna Kendrick, was just one of several powerful leading ladies that stepped out at the Chateau Marmont on Friday evening for a dinner hosted by the glossy’s editor-in-chief, Cindi Leive, and Maiyet co-founder and president Kristy Caylor.
The dinner, thrown as a toast to the mag’s Success Issue, celebrated the partnership between Glamour and Maiyet, both of which are helmed by ladies leading the way in their industries. "I think it’s so great that Glamour celebrates women and does the Women of the Year issue," said Caylor of the partnership. "Cindi and I were talking, and I’d love to do more things like this in the future." Caylor, who formerly headed up Gap's philanthropic Red lines and has also worked as a brand consultant for several labels including fair-trade company Mercado Global, has had her fair share of success in bringing Maiyet's "conscious capitalism" movement to the luxury fashion world. "I just hope we can continue to do all this great work with our philanthropies," said Caylor.
The 5-year-old luxury brand, which partners with master artisans from exotic locales including India, Indonesia and Peru, was also the label of choice for several partygoers that evening, including Rashida Jones and Jenna Dewan-Tatum — who both looked stunning in monochromatic two-piece ensembles — as well as Busy Philipps, Olivia Culpo and Halston Sage (pictured above), who rocked more colorful looks.
“I’m obsessed with this dress!” gushed Sage, who wore a floor-length pale pink halter number and cool metallic pendant necklace by the brand. “It’s so simple, yet so flattering.” The actress, who recently celebrated her 22nd birthday with her family over Mother’s Day, stars alongside Cara Delevingne and Nat Wolff in the upcoming film adaptation of the young adult novel Paper Towns. “I read it in a day and a half,” she revealed of the book penned by John Green, who also wrote the now-cult-classic The Fault in Our Stars. “And John is amazing,” she continued, “he was on-set all the time. Even though he’s easily the smartest person in the room at all times, he’ll never make you feel that way.”
The men in attendance also brought their style A-game, with Matthew Gray Gubler, Avan Jogia (who was cozy with actress Zoey Deutch) and Joe Jonas all looking sharp in black suits with patterned shirts. Though Gubler, who rocked an alien-printed shirt, noted later on Twitter, "half way into a fancy fashion party last night I realized the shirt I was wearing was actually a woman's pajama top." It's OK Matthew, we still think you looked sharp.
