Anna Kendrick, Zoe Saldana, Common to Announce 2013 Spirit Award Nominees
The trio will present the nominations on Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Hollywood.
Anna Kendrick, Zoe Saldana and Common will announce the 2013 Spirit Award nominees, Film Independent co-presidents Sean McManus and Josh Welsh announced on Friday.

The trio will present the nominations for the 28th annual event at a press conference at 10 a.m. PT on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at The W Hollywood.
“Anna, Zoe and Common have become an integral part of the Film Independent family and we are honored to have them join us for this big moment to announce and celebrate the best independent artists of the year,” said McManus.

Kendrick, a two-time Spirit Award nominee, recently starred in Pitch Perfect and End of Watch. Saldana, who served as a presenter on past Spirit Awards, was last seen in The Words and will star in upcoming Star Trek into Darkness. Common, who was an artist in residence during the 2008 Los Angeles Film Festival, was featured in The Odd Life of Timothy Green.
Film Independent will announce the winners on Feb. 23 at the 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards. The live-to-tape event is held in Santa Monica and will premiere later that evening on IFC at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Spirit Awards are given in the following categories: Best Feature, Best First Feature, Best First Screenplay, Best Director, Best Screenplay, John Cassavetes Award (given to the best feature made for a budget under $500,000), Best Male Lead, Best Female Lead, Best Supporting Male, Best Supporting Female, Best Cinematography, Best International Film, Best Documentary, and the Robert Altman Award. The Filmmaker Grants include the Someone to Watch Award, Stella Artois Truer Than Fiction Award, Piaget Producers Award and the Jameson FIND Your Audience Award.
