Anne Fletcher Directing 'Murder Mystery' for TWC-Dimension
Ann Fletcher, who is best known for helming the Sandra Bullock-Ryan Reynolds hit romantic comedy, The Proposal, is set to direct Murder Mystery, an action-comedy whodunit recently set up at TWC-Dimension.
The project has been around for a few years and was initially a Charlize Theron vehicle with John Madden directing. At one point, it was even set up at Disney.
James Vanderbilt, whose last movie was White House Down, wrote the script, which is described as a throwback to Agatha Christie stories as well as the classic Nick and Nora comedies.
The logline, given by TWC-Dimension, states that “a married couple takes the honeymoon they never had in the hopes of saving their struggling marriage, but soon find themselves in the middle of their very own murder mystery when one of their fellow cruise passengers is found dead. They must travel across Europe to discover the true murderer’s identity while trying to re-ignite the spark to their relationship.”
Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson are producing along with Vanderbilt, Endgame Entertainment’s James D. Stern and Theron.
Endgame’s Douglas E. Hansen, Tower Hill’s William Shively and Denver and Delilah’s Beth Kono and A.J. Dix will executive produce.
Matthew Singer and Keith Levine are overseeing for TWC-Dimension. Julie Goldstein and Lucas Smith are shepherding for Endgame.
Fletcher, who also directed The Guilt Trip and 27 Dresses, is repped by UTA.
