'Kill the Messenger' helmer Michael Cuesta will direct the drama.

Fault in Our Stars and Divergent actor Ansel Elgort is attached to star in Code Name Veil, the Black Label Media drama set in 1980s Beirut.

In the film, which is inspired by real events, Elgort would play a rookie CIA agent who investigates the attacks against the U.S. Embassy and Marine barracks during the bombings in Beirut in 1983. When his station chief is taken hostage, the young and inexperienced agent finds himself turning to desperate measures to save his mentor.

Kill the Messenger helmer Michael Cuesta is directing the hot-button film from a 2008 Black List script by Matt Billingsly.

Trent Luckinbill, Thad Luckinbill and Molly Smith are producing while Jon Schumacher and Ellen H. Schwartz will executive produce. CAA is repping domestic rights.

Elgort has been in high demand since his breakout role in The Fault in Our Stars, the hit adaptation of John Green's YA book. The 2014 film, in which he starred opposite Shailene Woodley, earned a massive $307 million worldwide.

Elgort, who is also an electronic dance music producer, stars in Summit's Divergent YA franchise (also with Woodley), and will next be seen in the franchise's Allegiant: Part 1, which opens in March. His other upcoming films include November Criminals with Chloe Grace Moretz, and he's attached to Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver with Lily James. He's repped by CAA, Brookside Artist Management and Kevin Yorn.
