APA Hires Veteran Music Agent Guy Richard
The former Agency Group rep will serve as vp adult contemporary.
APA has hired veteran agent Guy Richard as vp adult contemporary in its concerts division, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
For the last six years, Richard was vp at The Agency Group, which was acquired by UTA in August. The 2009 Pollstar Agent of the Year nominee spent the bulk of his career — 28 years — at William Morris, where he started in the mailroom in 1982 before becoming an agent in the adult contemporary genre. Prior to that, the San Diego State alum was a stagehand and then talent buyer for his alma mater.
“Guy is one of the most seasoned and respected agents in the business,” APA president-CEO Jim Gosnell said in a statement. “I’ve been a big fan for many years now, so of course I’m thrilled to have him joining our team.”
