Ticket holders including director Eli Roth took to Twitter to express their frustration, as well as their support for the industrial action.

A special Sunday evening screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey at Arclight Hollywood was canceled after strike action from projectionists demanding better wages.

A 70mm print of Stanley Kubrick's sci-fi classic was to be shown at The Dome at Arclight Hollywood to a packed audience. However, hundreds of ticket holders, including director Eli Roth, were told the news of the cancelation about 30 minutes after the film was supposed to start according to a user on Reddit

Striking projectionists, members of the IATSE 33 union, were picketing for better wages outside the theater as well as in the lobby.

Ticket holders took to Twitter to express a mixture of frustration for the canceled screening, worry about whether the screening would be reschuled as well as some expressing sympathy and support of the projectionists.

There was no news yet as to what date the screening will be rescheduled.
