Ariel Winter, Sara Ramirez, Wayne Brady Celebrate Disney's 'Sofia the First'
The animated, music-filled movie had its premiere Saturday in Burbank.
Ariel Winter, Sara Ramirez and Wayne Brady came out Saturday for the premiere of Disney's first little-girl princess movie, Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess.
The trio voice roles in the music-filled movie, which is set in the storybook world of Enchancia and introduces Sofia, an average girl whose life suddenly transforms when her mother marries the king and she becomes a princess. Saturday's event at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank also marked the launch of a Sofia the First illustrated storybook from Disney Publishing.
Also attending Saturday's event were Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer at Disney Channels Worldwide; Nancy Kanter, senior vp original programming and GM at Disney Channels Worldwide; Andrew Sugerman, executive vp at Disney Publishing Worldwide; and Joe D'Ambrosia, vp original programming at Disney Junior.
The kid-friendly event featured several activities for the younger crowd, including storybook reading, face painting, a balloon artist and several games. Also in attendance were Hollywood parents Samantha Harris, Joey Lawrence and Ian Ziering.
Tim Gunn, who couldn't attend the premiere, also voices a role in the movie, aimed at kids ages 2-7. It will debut at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, on Disney Channel and at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, on sister channel Disney Junior. A Sofia the First television series will premiere in early 2013.
