ASCAP board elects 24 to 2-year terms
The results of the biennial election for the board of directors of ASCAP were announced today by president and chairman of the board Marilyn Bergman. Twelve writer and 12 publisher members have been elected to serve on the board for a two-year term that begins April 1. The writer members are lyricists Bergman and Hal David; composers Charles Bernstein, Bruce Broughton, Johnny Mandel, Stephen Schwartz, Doug Wood and Stephen Paulus; and songwriters Wayland Holyfield, Jimmy Jam, Jimmy Webb and Paul Williams. The publisher directors elected in the at-large field are Freddy Bienstock, John L. Eastman, Roger Faxon, Nicholas Firth, David Hockman, Dean Kay, Leeds Levy, Jay R. Morgenstern, David Renzer, Irwin Z. Robinson, Kathy Spanberger and Arnold Broido.
