This #AskHerMore Taylor Swift Parody Video Calls Out Oscars for Racism, Sexism

"We're telling you to ask her more, what about her stellar career? Got a long list of trailblazers, they have a lot to say."

Every year Indiewire's "Women and Hollywood" makes a video about women and the Oscars, and this year's clip focuses on the #AskHerMore campaign as well as the lack of racial and gender diversity in the 2015 nominees.

Executive producer Melissa Silverstein tells The Hollywood Reporter that in the past her annual videos were compilations of the female directors who weren't nominated. "Just to remind people what's missing from the Oscars," said Silverstein.

Silverstein is co-founder and artistic director of the Athena Film Festival, so this year she asked a group of 20-year-olds from the festival to help out. They came up with the idea to parody Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" and call it "Blank State."

Silverstein said the girls rewrote the lyrics and focused on the #AskHerMore campaign, which was created to push red-carpet reporters to ask actresses questions beyond "Who are you wearing?" Jo Chiang, Charlie Gillette, Korinne Winter are credited as the writers, directors and producers and the vocals are performed by Saman Kamgar-Parsi.

"We're telling you to ask her more, what about her stellar career? Got a long list of trailblazers, they have a lot to say. We can bring a blank slate baby and we'll change the game," sings Kamgar-Parsi.
