Assaf Blecher Expands Role at Dick Clark Productions
He will oversee the joint venture with Keshet International that is behind the launch of a number of shows, including ABC's "Rising Star."
Assaf Blecher, vp programming and development for Dick Clark Productions, is expanding his role to include oversight of Keshet DCP, the new joint venture that is behind the reality singing competition Rising Star, premiering June 22 on ABC.
Blecher was instrumental in the formation of Keshet DCP in October 2013, joining forces with Keshet International, the company behind the Showtime TV series Homeland. Keshet International is the distribution and production arm of Keshet Media Group, which is headed by Alon Shtruzman.
In announcing the expansion of Blecher's role, Mark Bracco, executive vp programming and development for Dick Clark Productions, said that Blecher will be "instrumental in our strategies to expand our programming footprint domestically and internationally."
"His experience, industry acumen and friendship will be of great benefit to our collective effort," said Shtruzman.
"The Keshet International team," said Blecher, "are global leaders, and we look forward to introducing revolutionary new television formats to U.S audiences and beyond."
Blecher has been with Dick Clark since 2005 and has been involved with a number of projects, including the upcoming Star Spangled Spectacular for PBS. He is from Israel and has a master’s degree from Kent & Canterbury University in the U.K.
Dick Clark Productions and The Hollywood Reporter are both owned by affiliates of Guggenheim Partners.
