Atlas Entertainment Ushers in a Series of Promotions
Andy Horwitz and Jake Kurily are upped to VPs.
As part of a series of promotions at Atlas Entertainment, Andy Horwitz and Jake Kurily have been upped to VPs.
Former creative executive Horwitz and former director of development Kurily will now help oversee production and development for Atlas’ film and TV projects. The pair will also work on the production and development of Atlas Independent’s films. Horwitz will continue to manage publicity for both companies with IDPR and DDA.
In addition, former on-set Atlas production liaison for Man of Steel Curt Kanemoto has been promoted to production executive, while Rebecca Roven and Dan Wiedenhaupt have been upped to creative executives.
“As our business ventures expand and slate of films continue to grow, we have such great human resources here that we can promote from within,” Atlas founder Charles Roven said.
Horwitz began at Atlas in 2007, assisting on such films as The Bank Job, Get Smart and The Dark Knight. He is an associate producer on Atlas Independent’s Revenge for Jolly!, which was recently acquired by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group, and Open Grave, directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego.
Kurily joined Atlas in 2006 as an assistant to the VP of development and production, quickly becoming a creative executive one year later, and soon thereafter the director of development. Kurily found and was instrumental in helping to set up the Black List script Winter’s Discontent at Sony.
