Marc Lichte, Audi's new head of design, will reveal a concept car embodying the brand's new design vocabulary at the L.A. Auto Show in November

Audi will reveal a new design vocabulary next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show that will accentuate the brand's technological advancements, the company announced Tuesday.

Marc Lichte, appointed the head of Audi Design last February, will unveil the new look with a concept car at the auto show, which opens for press previews Nov. 18. The concept car may eventually become Audi's new flagship sedan and could carry the designation A9, replacing the current A8.

According to reports, Audi's new look will feature a restyled front grill and laser headlamps — which Audi announced it would incorporate into future models at the 2014 CES International show — as well as radically redesigned interiors, including the virtual cockpit introduced on the redesigned 2016 TT sports coupe, unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show earlier this year.

Audi has been criticized for allowing its designs to grow stale, while others say that its models look too much alike

Before joining Audi, Lichte worked at Volkswagen and was involved in the design of Touareg, Passat and Phaeton.
