Aussie 'Prank Patrol' getting new episodes

ABC3 teaming with activeTV for 39 additional half-hours

Australia's ABC3 and activeTV are teaming for 39 new half-hour episodes of the Aussie version of the children's reality series "Prank Patrol," created by Canada's Apartment 11 Prods.

The Australian version of "Prank Patrol" debuted on digital channel ABC3 in December and was repeated on ABC's main channel ABC1 in March 2010. The series of 26 half-hours consistently rated in the top five shows viewed by children ages 5-12 on both channels.

More MIPTV coverage
ActiveTV acquired the Oz rights to "Prank Patrol" in October 2008 from MarVista Entertainment, the series' exclusive worldwide distributor, which is debuting the first season of 26 half-hour episodes of the Aussie format version at MIP-TV.

" 'Prank Patrol' has performed exceptionally well for MarVista, and we have no doubt that 'Prank Patrol Australia' will keep the momentum going," Marvista CEO Fernando Szew said.

The original "Prank Patrol" series has been a long-running fixture on YTV Canada with a total of 100 episodes available for the international market. A U.K. format airs on the BBC.
