'Avatar' Receives Environmental Media Award
Green-friendly shows honored include Fox’s “Bones” and Playhouse Disney’s “Handy Manny.”
"Avatar" and "30 Rock" were among the recipients of the 2010 Environmental Media Assn. awards Saturday.
Other productions recognized for spreading the green message included the documentary "Gasland” and Fox’s "Bones," Playhouse Disney’s “Handy Manny” and HGTV’s “Living With Ed.”
Media moguls Ted Turner and Jeff Skoll received honorary awards for their green-friendly contributions.
“Even people who are not conserving, they know about it, and knowing about it is really important, because you can change somebody who doesn’t care much about the environment to somebody who’s very concerned about it,” 71-year-old Turner told the Associated Press.
The eco-friendly ceremony was presented at the Warner Bros. Studios.
