Cameron working on finishing 'Avatar' novel first
Deals for an "Avatar" sequel -- or two -- are being worked on, but creator James Cameron told MTV that he is focused on finishing his "Avatar" novel before getting started on a sequel.

Cameron hinted that the final two parts of the planned trilogy could be lumped together into a single production. "We're actually talking about that. That's not a decision yet," he said. "That is something that makes a lot of sense, given the nature of these productions, because we can bank all the [motion] capture and then go back and do cameras over a period of time."

News Corp. chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch previously said that his company's Fox studio is eyeing a sequel and has held first talks with Cameron about financial and other details.
