Comedy Central has named the winner of its first-ever broadband competition "Test Pilots," which honors the best in user-generated content.

With the contest including over 2,000 submissions in the categories of live action, animation, parody and sketch, the grand prize went to "Awesome Friends," created by Wade Randolf. With the victory, Randolf lands a development deal with the network for an Wepisodic series on www.comedycentral.com.

"We were thrilled with the audience reaction to 'Test Pilots' and are excited to create a broadband series that will encapsulate the Comedy Central brand and keep our comedycentral.com users laughing," said Lou Wallach, senior vp, original programming and development, Comedy Central.

The three-month competition saw online viewers voting with the grand prize winner ultimately determined by a Comedy Central panel of judges consisting of executives from the network.

The competition was sponsored by Amp'd Mobile and utilized iFilm's user-generated content submission platform.

Said Wallach about the channel's increasing involvement with interactive endeavors that utilize multiple platforms, "That's our M.O. ? it's part of our strategy. We're not holding back. If it can live in more than one platform, you're gonna see it out there."
