'Awkward' Star Beau Mirchoff Cast in 'Gametime' Sports Film

He will play a young college basketball recruit in the feature, which will also include James Brolin and Romeo.
Beau Mirchoff, one of the stars of MTV's Awkward, has been cast as the lead in Gametime, a sports film that will also feature James Brolin and rapper/actor Romeo.
Gametime, which is being produced by S3 Entertainment Group, explores the business of college basketball -- revealed through the eyes of two top recruits. Larry August will direct.
The film also will feature former Michigan State basketball player Delvon Roe. Filming is slated to begin in November 2011.
Mirchoff's credits include I am Number Four, Scary Movie 4 and a stint on ABC's Desperate Housewives. On Awkward, a breakout hit for MTV, he plays Matty McKibben. Mirchoff will next be seen in the independent film The Secret Lives of Dorks.
Mirchoff is represented by APA, Vital Management Group and Ginsburg Daniels LLP.
