'Bachelor' gives old roses to VH1
Empty"The Bachelor" will be looking for love all over again on VH1.
The cable network has acquired the full library of the reality competition series in a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
The agreement includes a dozen cycles of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" franchises as wellas all cycles through at least 2008. VH1 — which has set network records with its own dating reality shows — will air the first seven seasons of "Bachelor" from June 1-7, with one season airing each day as part of a marathon.
"Dating reality has become the drama for the current generation of young adults, with an engaging mix of intrigue, romance and surprises," said Ben Zurier, executive vp programming strategy at VH1. " 'The Bachelor' and VH1 certainly feels like a good match." (partialdiff)
