'Bachelor Pad' Host Chris Harrison Talks Jake Vs. Kasey
On Monday, the second season of ABC's hybrid Bachelor Pad, which combines past contestants from the network's The Bachelor and The Bachelorette in one house to compete for a $500,000 prize, debuted to high ratings (6.9 million viewers tuned in).
The show's host, Chris Harrison, called in to Ryan Seacrest's radio show Tuesday to discuss the episode, and its reunion of volatile The Bachelor Season 14's formerly-engaged duo Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi (who is now dating another contestant, The Bachelorette Season 6's Kasey Kahl).
When Seacrest asked Harrison, who spends a lot of time with the show's contestants, who he liked better, Pavelka or Kahl, the host said, "I love them both for what they have done for me."
But, when pressed on who he'd want to 'bro out with,' Harrison quipped: "Wow, do I have to go out with either."
And that wasn't the only diss he delivered during the short call. Seacrest also suggested that a show with Harrison, Pavelka and Kahl "would make a great fourth hour." To which, Harrison retorted: "Three hours isn't enough? We can't prop up ABC any more."
ABC's promo's promised a showdown between the two men during the premiere episode, but in reality, the meeting was less than dramatic.
"There was a lot of tough talk, and a lot of -- Kasey was going to come in and protect and guard Vienna's heart, and he would like nothing more than to just beat Jake up," explained Harrison. "And then ... when all three of them got together ... they ended up talking about the weather. ... It was just that awkward, 'Gee it's cold.' 'Yeah, it hasn't rained in a while.' It was like calling your grandmother."
