BAFTA Sets Dates for Next Three Film Awards
The British Academy's main awards ceremony is scheduled for a Valentine's Day clash in 2016.
Film-industry folk hoping to have a romantic night in on next year's Valentine's Day might want to think again.
Just after the dates for the next three Academy Awards were revealed, the British Academy has lined up its next major trio of ceremonies, the first of which will see a potentially relationship-rocking clash with Cupid.
In an announcement made Friday, BAFTA said that its next film awards would take place on Feb. 14, 2016, followed by Feb. 12, 2017, and Feb. 18, 2018. Berlinale-bound individuals might be disheartened to hear that the next awards will — once again — take place in the middle of the festival.
BAFTA also set the date for its Los Angeles Britannia Awards, which celebrate those involved in the long-standing cinematic collaboration between the U.K. and U.S. The event — which previously has honored the likes of Judi Dench, George Clooney and Martin Scorsese — will take place next at The Beverly Hilton hotel on Oct. 30, 2015.
