Baltimore Orioles Announce Next Game Closed to Public
The Orioles consulted with MLB and Baltimore city officials before making the decision.
In light of the city's rioting, the Baltimore Orioles have announced that Wednesday's game against the White Sox will be closed to the public.
"After consultation with Major League Baseball and city and local officials," the Orioles statement reads, "tomorrow's game between the Orioles and the Chicago White Sox will begin at 2:05 ET and will be closed to the public."
The three-game series between the Orioles and the Tampa Bay Rays, scheduled for May 1-3, will take place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. with the Orioles serving as home team.
As can be seen in the above photo, protesters have congregated all over the city, including at Oriole Park.
According to the statement, fans with tickets to any of the above referenced games may exchange their tickets for any remaining home game this season on a "dollar for dollar" basis.
