Banff 2012: Neil Court and Carrie Mudd Launch Peacock Alley Entertainment
As the Canadian TV production sector continues to shakeout, the Tricon Films & Television and DHX Media veterans unveil plans to make TV shows for the world market.
BANFF, Alberta -- Decode Entertainment co-founder Neil Court is joining with Tricon Films & Television development and co-production topper Carrie Mudd to launch Peacock Alley Entertainment.
The duo will use their production shingle to create, develop and produce factual and scripted TV programming for the world market.
“I’ve long admired Carrie’s abilities and success as a producer and distributor,” Court said Monday as his latest collaboration was unveiled at the Banff World Media Festival. "She's got a very strong creative track record and a proven understanding of the global television market."
Court, based in Britain since 1991, executive produced such series as Angela Anaconda, Planet Sketch and Naturally Sadie while at Decode, before leaving parent DHX Media in 2009.
Earlier, Court was founding managing director of Nelvana Enterprises, where he stick-handled around 200 hours of international co-productions.
Mudd joined Tricon in 2001 to launch a foreign sales division, before serving as senior vp development and co-production.
