'The Following,' 'Banshee' Actors Join Indie 'My First Christmas' (Exclusive)
Valerie Cruz and Matthew Rauch will star in the film centering on a teen fighting a rare cancer who needs a bone marrow transplant.
The cast for indie My First Christmas has been finalized with The Following actress Valerie Cruz and Banshee actor Matthew Rauch signing on.
Sean Patrick Flanery and Quinton Aaron are also starring in the holiday family film, which centers on a 17-year-old (Katya Martin) who has a rare form of cancer and needs a bone marrow transplant. The search for such a donor is exceedingly difficult, but she finds friendship and love after meeting a 17-year-old homeless runaway (Juan Castano).
Rudy Luna wrote and will direct the film, which is shooting in New York. It's produced by Jordan Yale Levine alongside Luna, former MLB player Kenny Lofton and Brenton Earley for Yale Productions and FilmPool.
Cruz's recent film credits include The Loft. Her extensive TV credits include playing Agent Gina Mendez on Fox's The Following and Sylvia Prado on Showtime's Dexter. She has also been on Homeland, Necessary Roughness and Alphas. She's repped by Innovative Artists and Authentic Talent And Literary Management.
Rauch plays Clay Burton on Cinemax's Banshee, and he previously appeared in Believe and Blue Bloods. On the film side, he had roles in Labor Day and The Wolf of Wall Street. He's repped by Leading Artists and Koopman Management.
