'Barber' tops as India fest concludes
The Silver Peacock for most promising director went to Korea's An Kung-Lee for "A Short Life" while the special jury award went to director Abu Sayeed of Bangladesh for "Nirontor." Both prizes included a cash award of 500,000 rupees ($11,000).
The awards ceremony was hosted by actress and filmmaker Aparna Sen.
IFFI jury members included filmmaker Rolf de Heer, director Olivier Assayas, director Jahnu Barua and actress Leticia Bredice.
The festival, which opened Nov. 23 with a screening of Pedro Almodovar's "Volver," concluded Sunday with the Brad Pitt starrer "Babel," directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.
