Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen are finally hitting the road together in My Mother’s Curse. Paramount has greenlit the long-gestating road-trip comedy with Streisand and Rogen playing mom and son.
Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) will direct the project with a script by Dan Fogelman (Cars), which he wrote based on his own experience traveling with his mother. Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn are producing along with Evan Goldberg. Executive producers include Rogen, Streisand, Fogelman and David Ellison, whose Skydance will co-finance the pic. The movie has been in the works for at least a couple years. Streisand and Rogen were offered the roles last summer and expressed interest but a green light has been elusive. The story follows an inventor (Rogen) who invites his mother on a cross-country trip as he tries to sell his new product while also reuniting her with a lost love. Now that Paramount has pulled the trigger, shooting is scheduled to begin in the spring. The studio has had a busy week. It also officially greenlit Fun Size, a Halloween comedy that THR previously reported will be directed by TV showrunner Josh Schwartz. Streisand, who recently appeared in Universal’s Little Fockers, is repped by WME, manager Martin Erlichman and attorney Barry Hirsch. Rogen, now onscreen in Green Hornet, is repped by UTA, Principal Entertainment and attorney Fred Toczek. Fletcher is repped by UTA and attorney David Weber.THR's Daily Must Feeds
