Ex-Barenaked Ladies Frontman Steven Page Delays Canadian Tour to February 2011

Postponed tour was due to "a tour opportunity" he was offered for the following year.

Former Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page has postponed his upcoming Canadian pop concert tour from November to February 2011, over apparent stomach butterflies.

“Hey folks -- sorry for the last-minute cancellation. It wasn't for health or family reasons, but because of a tour opportunity I got offered for
February,” Page said in a short statement on his website late Thursday, without giving details.

But in a Toronto Sun newspaper interview earlier this week, Page said he was on edge ahead of nine Canadian concert dates with his new band set to start next week to promote his first solo album since splitting with The Barenaked Ladies last year.

"I haven't done this in a long time. It's been three and a half years since I've been on a tour bus,” he told the newspaper as he looks to rebuild his career.

Since last on tour, Page has made local headlines for all the wrong reasons: infidelity, drugs and breaking up with his former band.

Page was arrested in 2008 in upstate New York for cocaine possession, before charges were dropped after the pop musician agreed to drug counseling and testing.

Page is to perform at a Nov. 30 concert in Seattle, and a Dec. 1 date in Portland.
