Barenaked Ladies Sign with Vanguard Records, Announce Summer Tour Dates
The Canadian band, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, will hit the road with Ben Folds Five and Guster.
Barenaked Ladies has signed with Vanguard Records, home to John Fogerty, Matt Nathanson and Ozomatli, among other Triple A-leaning artists. Their first studio album for the label (and 12th overall), due out June 4, marks the 25th anniversary of the Canadian band, which now includes guitarist and frontman Ed Robertson, bassist Jim Creeggan, keyboardist Kevin Hearn and drummer Tyler Stewart.

The as-yet-untitled effort was recorded in Toronto with producers Gavin Brown (The Tragically Hip, Metric), Howie Beck (Feist, Josh Rouse) and Mark Endert (Maroon 5, Train).
Its release will coincide with the second serving of the Last Summer on Earth tour, featuring co-headliners Ben Folds Five and Guster, which nearly sold out its inaugural run in 2012. This year’s tour hits 30 arenas and amphitheaters and kicks off June 17 in Dallas.
