BBC Worldwide America, Temple Street to Develop Reality Fare
Temple Street Productions and BBC Worldwide's U.S. arm to jointly develop factual fare for the American market.
TORONTO -- Already tied-up with BBC Worldwide, Canadian indie producer Temple Street Productions has pacted with BBC Worldwide America to jointly develop and invest in factual entertainment series for the U.S. market.
Toronto-based Temple and BBC Worldwide’s U.S. arm already have two projects in development, the first portraying North America’s most dangerous day-jobs, and the second about a woman competing -- and thriving -- in a man’s world.
The development pact follows Temple Street producing homegrown dramas like Being Erica, Canada’s Next Top Model and Recipes to Riches while in the BBC Worldwide fold.
In 2008, BBC Worldwide acquired a minority stake in Temple Street giving the Canuck producer a first look option to produce TV formats. Additionally, BBC Worldwide has a first-look option to acquire international distribution rights on Temple Street original productions.
