BBC Worldwide appoints gaming boss

Robert Nashak to oversee gaming strategy across platforms

LONDON -- Signaling a new focus on digital gaming, BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, has wooed Electronic Arts exec Robert Nashak to be its new LA-based evp of Digital Entertainment, it was announced Friday.

Nashak will oversee BBC Worldwide's gaming strategy and develop new opportunities across a wide range of gaming platforms, reporting to BBC Worldiwide chief executive John Smith

At Electronic Arts Nashak was vp with strategic and operational responsibility for social gaming. He also held positions at Yahoo!, GluMobile and Vivendi.

"Gaming has always been an area of particular interest to BBC Worldwide, especially in recent months with the digital entertainment industry developing at such rapid speed," said Smith.

"Robert brings highly relevant knowledge and experience to help us expand our consumer demand led offering," he added.
