The band – featuring original Boys Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine along with longtime members Bruce Johnston and David Marks – will play an exclusive intimate show for SiriusXM subscribers April 19, five days before the tour kickoff.

The show is part of the satcaster’s Artist Confidential series, which also will feature the SoCal band in conversation with Jim Ladd, who joined SiriusXM this year after more than 40 years as an FM deejay in Los Angeles.

The radio concert will premiere May 26 during SiriusXM’s “Beach Boys Endless Summer Weekend,” a four-day celebration of the band and other summer music from the 1960s on its ’60s on 6 channel.

The concert will feature songs from the seminal group’s half-century career, including tracks its new album due this summer.

“Beach Boys fans span multiple generations, and we are excited to give our subscribers a special taste of this legendary group just as they set out on their global 50th anniversary tour,” said Steve Blatter, SiriusXM’s senior vp music programming.

The Beach Boys are among the most successful groups in pop history.  They rode the surf music wave into the national consciousness with such early ’60s hits as “Surfin’ Safari,” “Surfer Girl” and “Fun, Fun, Fun,” eventually becoming synonymous with the Southern California scene that was furthered by a slew of popular beach party movies.

Originally including Wilson’s brothers Carl and Dennis – who died in 1998 and 1983, respectively -- they charted 15 Top 10 hits from 1963-88, including four No. 1s.  They also had a string of hit albums, including the 1966 masterpiece Pet Sounds, still widely regarded as among the greatest albums ever. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

The reunited Beach Boys lineup debuted at the Grammys in February, which the band finishing off a three-song tribute with its chart-topping 1966 classic “Good Vibrations.” It was the first time the surviving original members had performed together in more than 20 years.

After the SiriusXM concert, the band will kick off its reunion tour April 24 in Tucson, Ariz. They have nearly four dozen North American dates booked through July 15, then it’s off to Germany and Japan.
