The music star, who came to YouTube Space London for MTV's Cover of the Month competition, also lauded covers, which gave her a career start.

Music star Bebe Rexha took over the YouTube Space London Tuesday night to celebrate MTV’s Cover of the Month competition and the community of fans driving cover culture on the Google video site.

While she has worked with the likes of Rihanna, Eminem, David Guetta and Nicki Minaj, Rexha told THR that she would love to collaborate with Kanye West. "I know Kanye has gone through a lot of stuff in his life," she said. "I don't judge people on their personal lives. ... I just respect Kanye as an artist."

She added: "I respect the fact that he is able to change his sound and be innovative. He is not scared. Whether you consider [a song] a hit or a flop or whatever, he still goes all the way, and I think that's what true artists should do."

Asked about her debut album All Your Fault being released in two parts, with the first part coming out on Feb. 17, Rexha said: "It's six, seven songs coming out. Then, part two is coming in April, and in the summer, I am going to release the whole actual CD."

Why the innovative release? "Music changes so fast, and we're in a singles market," she explained. "I want to release six songs, let people listen to those, let them chill for a second, do a tour, release another six songs, chill for a second and then take my favorite four, put them on the album and add some more."

The singer and songwriter also shared her excitement about being chosen for MTV's Cover of the Month initiative, which works with an established artist each month. "It's exciting for me, because I started out doing covers," Rexha said. "I did my first cover of Drake 'Hold on, We're Going Home,' and I remember getting 50,000 views, and I was like wow, I was so happy and felt I had made it. ... And here I am and they tell me there are thousands of cover entries for 'I Got You,' my single."

Ahead of a Tuesday evening party, artists flocked to the YouTube Space to record their covers and attend a workshop with Rexha and YouTube experts.

Sam Tompkins was picked by a panel of MTV International judges as the winner of the Rexha cover competition and will get his own music video produced and promoted by MTV. "He is a total package," Rexha said about the young winner. Both performed at YouTube Space London during a Tuesday night party.

Tompkins told THR: "What I want to do next is release my first project, hopefully in mid-March. This is a perfect stepping stone to release something now. The music I made I am super proud of, and I have written it myself with one of my best friends, Chris J. Priest, who produced the cover that we did today. We have worked so hard, and I am super excited to get out there."
