'The Duff' actress will play one of four friends who embark on an all-night adventure to do right by their friend who died of leukemia.

Bella Thorne and YouTube star Kian Lawley have landed roles in AwesomenessTV's Shovel Buddies, a 2013 Black List screenplay about four teenagers who embark on an all-night adventure to honor the memory of their recently deceased friend.

Rounding out the cast of teens are Alex Neustaedter (Ithaca) and newcomer Anton Starkman

Shovel Buddies tells the story of four friends who come together to do right by their friend Sammy, who recently died of leukemia. Jimmy (Neustaedter) finds a letter from Sammy asking that he be buried in his favorite football jersey instead of cremated like his parents plan. Jimmy enlists his little brother Lump (Starkman), his other best friend Dan (Lawley), Sammy's sister Kate (Thorne) to do honor Sammy's wishes. Philip Labes and James C. Burns also star.

Production on Shovel Buddies, which AwesomenessTV is producing in coordination with Film 360, began in May in California. The film is being directed by Simon Atkinson and Adam Townley. Brian Robbins, Dean Schnider, Ben Forkner, Ali Itri, Shauna Phelan and Larry Shapiro are producing.

Shovel Buddies is one of several feature-length films currently in development from AwesomenessTV, which is behind the 2014 VOD release Expelled

Thorne is repped by WME, LBI Entertainment and attorney Howard Fishman. Lawley is repped by AwesomenessTV's Big Frame, CAA and attorney Danny Miller
