'Sherlock' Star Benedict Cumberbatch Confirms Fourth Season of BBC Hit Show
He says that he would love the detective series to continue, but admits that he and co-star Martin Freeman have busy schedules.
LONDON -- Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman have signed up for a fourth season of BBC hit detective drama Sherlock, Radio Times magazine reported on its website Tuesday.
"We've agreed to two more series, but I could get into trouble for saying that," it quoted Cumberbatch as saying. "All I know at the moment is I'm doing these three [episodes of the upcoming third season] and another three."

Cumberbatch stars as Sherlock Holmes in the series, with Freeman playing sidekick Dr. Watson. In the U.S., the show airs on BBC America.
The actor also said that he would love to see the show continue beyond a fourth season, but emphasized that it would all depend on the schedules of the co-stars and co-creator Steven Moffat, who also serves as showrunner for sci-fi evergreen Doctor Who.
