Palm Springs Film Fest: Stylish Significant Others Stood Out on the Carpet
Benedict Cumberbatch's fiancee, Sophie Hunter, and Eddie Redmayne's new wife, Hannah Bagshawe, upped the fashion ante of their Golden Globe-nominated significant others over the weekend
Benedict Cumberbatch — part of The Imitation Game ensemble honored at the Palm Springs Film Festival Gala on Saturday — surprised and caught even more attention from fans when he arrived on the Palm Springs red carpet with his new fiancee, British theater director Sophie Hunter. The two have made appearances before in the U.K., but not on the Hollywood awards circuit.
After the couple posed on the carpet, Hunter went straight into the theater without answering any reporters' questions, but not before we caught sight of her beautiful printed gown — a purple, yellow, black and white long-sleeved "fairy tale" style gown from the spring 2015 Just Cavalli line. It was lovely and soft; Hunter, it seems, also favors multicolored printed gowns by Brit design star Erdem, so let's take this as a preview of what we'll see her in during the Golden Globes weekend — she's sure to make a splash at the awards show and subsequent parties on the arm of her nominated fiance. Print on the red carpet? It's novel and we love it.
Eddie Redmayne, another Palm Springs honoree and Golden Globe-nominated actor, brought his new wife, Hannah Bagshawe, to Palm Springs, as well. The lovely British brunette wore a low-key, chic Gucci black strapless column to accompany her Gucci black velvet jacket-clad husband. We don't have a lot of style history on Mrs. Redmayne, but we're sure to see her during Globes weekend. Perhaps she will be wearing whatever designer Redmayne favors — Gucci or Burberry.
Something to rejoice for fashion admirers everywhere: new ladies on the red carpet to watch!
