BERLIN -- X Verleih has acquired all German-language rights to Romanian drama Child's Pose from sales group Beta Film.

It will release the feature from director Calin Peter Netzer in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland.

Beta also closed multiple other territory deals for Child's Play, including for France, the Benelux countries, Greece and Taiwan.

Child's Pose was well received in its world premiere in Competition at the Berlin International Film Festival, in particular for the performance of Luminita Gheorghiu, who plays a domineering mother who sees a chance to regain control over her adult son when he faces manslaughter charges for reckless driving.
