Berlin 2013: Former ICM Boss Jeff Berg Takes on Worldwide Sales Duties on Amit Gupta's 'Jadoo'
The British comedy is set for its world debut as the closing night movie for the Berlinale culinary cinema section.
Former ICM chairman Jeff Berg's newly formed talent, rights, finance and sales agency Resolution has taken on worldwide sales duties for British comedy Jadoo.
The movie is set for its world debut as the closing night movie for the Berlinale culinary cinema section.
Written and directed by Amit Gupta, the comedy details the story of two brothers, both wonderful chefs, who fall out so catastrophically that they tear the fabled family recipe book in half – one brother gets the starters, and the other gets the main courses.
After setting up rival restaurants on opposite sides of the road, they spend 10 years trying to outdo each other despite both now only being able to cook half of the perfect Indian meal.
But the marriage of one of their daughters and her wish for them to cater the celebration together is a make-or-break request.
Jadoo, which means "magic" in Hindi, is produced by Richard Holmes (Eden Lake), Amanda Faber (Resistance), Isabelle Georgeaux (Resistance) and Nikki Parrott (The Market: a Tale of Trade).
Gupta’s debut film Resistance garnered him a best first film award nomination from the Writers Guild of Great Britain. Actress Sharon Morgan got a best actress BAFTA from the organization's Welsh chapter.
Jadoo stars Amara Karan (The Darjeeling Limited), Harish Patel (Run Fatboy Run), Kulvinder Ghir (Bend it Like Beckham) and Tom Mison (Salmon Fishing In the Yemen), with celebrity Indian chef and actress Madhur Jaffrey.
With offices in Los Angeles and New York, Resolution focuses on the core functions of talent representation, while offering financial and advisory services to the entertainment and media industries.
