Berlin 2013: 'The Canyons' Director Paul Schrader to Pen 'The Devil's Right Hand' (Exclusive)
The "Taxi Driver" writer will handle the screenplay for the film about a group of modern-day advertising executives who share a dark secret.
BERLIN -- Paul Schrader is attached to pen the screenplay for the upcoming feature The Devil's Right Hand, a thriller about modern-day advertising executives in New York.
The Taxi Driver and Raging Bull scribe will adapt an original story by Danish screenwriter Anders Olholm, moving the action from Copenhagen to New York. Schrader most recently directed the controversial drama The Canyons with Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen. The film was rejected by the Sundance and South by Southwest festivals, but is likely to be picked up by a U.S. distributor.

Michael Aoun and Adam Neutzsky-Wulff from Danish-based shingle Drama Deluxe will produce the film, with principal photography set to start in May.
Billed as a fast-paced thriller along the lines of The Firm or The Fugitive, The Devil's Right Hand features a group of powerful New York executives who share a dark secret that, if revealed, would destroy all their careers.

The producers are still in negotiations for a director and cast.
The Devil's Right Hand will be Drama Deluxe's second English-language feature film, following the just-completed The Stranger Inside.
LevelK, which is handling worldwide sales for the thriller starring William Baldwin, Sarah Butler and Estella Warren, has closed multiple territory deals on the project at the EFM in Berlin.
